Lemberger, also known as Blaufränkisch in Germany and Austria, was first cultivated along the Danube in present-day Slovenia. It is grown all over central Europe and more recently, in increasing quantities, Washington and Idaho. The first commercial planting of Lemberger in the United States was by Kiona in 1976.

Rich red wine aromas with nuances of Merlot and Cabernet are present, along with an unfamiliar but intriguing spicy background. Mildly tannic with a velvety balanced mouthfeel. Aged in French and American oak.
